Description
My name is Brian Godding, and Julie Driscoll (now Tippetts) is my sister-in-law. As you may know, her husband Keith is unwell at the moment. I am selling these records to raise money to help with his recovery. They are the family’s personal copies. Good luck!
This auction is for an unreleased 1967 EMIdisc acetate of Julie, Brian Auger & The Trinity performing A Whiter Shade Of Pale, with Gotta Go Now on the other side.
Their version of A Whiter Shade Of Pale features Julie singing wordlessly over the band’s backing, and has never been reissued, bootlegged or put online. It may only survive on this very acetate.
Gotta Go Now is a faster track, and has appeared on reissues of their Open album.

I believe these tracks were recorded at the sessions for Open in the autumn of 1967, and might have been considered for release as their debut single.
Both sides have light marks, but play through beautifully, with a crisp and punchy sound.
