Own a piece of Rock 'N Roll History!

This is a highly coveted record considered by many to be the very first rock 'n roll record released in 1951. This is the original FIRST RELEASE of "ROCKET 88" issued on 78 r.p.m. by JACKIE BRENSTON and his DELTA CATS on CHESS Label #1458. No 45's were ever pressed on CHESS in 1951. Chess later re-released "Rocket 88" on a 45 in 1954. The 45's are extremely rare commanding prices well into the thousands. This First Issue on the original 78 is a rare find.

The condition is NOT mint or near mint; however, the label is very good on both sides and free of stickers, writing, and stains. Sound quality is excellent -- free of hisses and scratch repeats. The record itself shows typical scuffing and surface wear as any 78 record would after 55 years. However, the sound quality and label are the distinguishing features of this rare recording. This record is guaranteed to be exactly as described and free of cracks and chips.
