Description

An original 1st press of PEARL on the  UK CBS label from 1971. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut. Please note genuine 1st copies exhibit a few credit errors. The obvious one which stands out is on CRY BABY which is creditted to 'Russel & Meade'...when it should in fact be 'Ragavoy-Berns'. They seem to have got it correct on the cover, but the 1st labels seem to carry this error. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Shorewood Packaging cover with 'patents pending'.
Vinyl (Ex/Vg+) In lovely condition and has only seen relatively light use. Under close inspection there are a few light marks each side - one or two are very small and just feelable. Thankfully, they run perpendicular to the track [the best sort!] and are of pretty much no consequence at all. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals a mostly EXCELLENT level of playback with one slight deviation. Just solid full-bodied sound...it's truly a great rendition and certainly impresses. Interference, thankfully, is both minor and infrequent. It's a clean player...All I could detect was a bit of light static sporadically in a couple of the tracks on side 2 - e.g. 'Mercedes Benz' [the short ditty] . It's a little belter make no mistake about it... Please note there's one signature on the side 2 label.
Cover (Vg) In very decent condition and not faring too bad at all. Nice clean front with a bit of creasing running through the image on the right side. The rear looks fine, but there's a sticker removal mark in the top right and another bit of wear down in the bottom left corner and one small name written in blue biro.  There's a bit of edge wear in places, but no too bad at all. The text on the spine is still legible and only exhibits a bit of wear. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
