Janis Joplin Pearl LP CBS UK 1st Press A1/B1 With Credit Errors [Ex+/Vg+]

Description

An original 1st press of PEARL on the  UK CBS label from 1971. Matrix A1/B1 - very 1st cut. Please note genuine 1st copies exhibit a few credit errors. The obvious one which stands out is on CRY BABY which is creditted to 'Russel & Meade'...when it should in fact be 'Ragavoy-Berns'. They seem to have got it correct on the cover, but the 1st labels seem to carry this error. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original Shorewood Packaging cover with 'patents pending'. Also included is the original "CBS - The Music People" inner sleeve. So, 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light use. Under close inspection there are a couple of light marks each side - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback with one tiny deviation. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Lovely full-bodied sound all the way through..totally unhindered. Interference is pretty much non-existent. Expect nothing more than a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments per side. The only deviation is one solitary click midway through 'Cry Baby'. It's a blindingly good rendition with extremely quiet background. Even in Bobby McGee & Mercedes..which, in my opinion, is unusual...A keeper for the collection with certainty.

Cover (Vg+) In very nice condition with a clean front exhibiting a couple of low-level marks and a touch sticker residue in the top left corner. The rear fares well too with minimal handling. There's a touch of edge wear in places but by and large in very good order. The only vaguely noticeable wear is a couple of small patches on the spine. The text on the spine is still pretty much a legible. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity.
Inner (Vg+) Light ageing.  No splits or markings though.
