Description

Today I offer one of my prized Lp's for auction. I submit to you the bidders a glorious copy of Janos Starker performing Kodaly's Sonata For Unaccompanied Cello Opus 8. This is the maroon label stereo copy of this title. The record number is SPLP 510.

I use a Technics SL 23 with a Stanton cartridge and a Pioneer receiver. This vinyl is a very strong VG+. The sound is unbelievable for a fifty some year old LP. Throughout both sides there is hardly any unwanted noises. The microgrooves are very clean with no visible scratches. There is a very low noise on the first movement of side one. It never grows louder than Starkers cello. The noise fades away halfway through the first movement. The second movement is flawless. There are no noises. In fact it is possible to hear the rustling of Starkers stand. The continuance of the second movement has a little noise similar to the A side. It also never overtakes the Cello. The Third Movement is brilliant. There are no sounds audible only Starkers cello work. Overall, this vinyl would grade at VG+ possibly VG++. The jacket is clear of seam splits. Only a small amount of wear on the corners. The jacket is still flat and entact. The back cover is a little dusty but is to be expected with an album this old. Overall, I would grade this package a solid VG+. Please ask all questions. Anybody interested in hearing a sample should email me and we can arrange a phone call. Shipping will be 3.95 in the US. International will be 10-16 dollars.
