Description
These items are from my personal collection, accumulated over a 55-year period. This lot contains both the records and the sleeves. The sleeves have been stored without the records since my original purchase at the time of their release. The picture disc and colored vinyl single have never been played. Records and sleeves are visually graded, by me, based on Goldmine grading standards. I try to grade conservatively.
1. Jethro Tull - Broadsword/Fallen on Hard Times (UK, 7" Picture Disc, Chrysalis, CHSP 2619 A2). Outside plastic sleeve is not graded. The Picture Disc has never been played, so it's graded Near Mint.
2. Jethro Tull - The Whistler/Strip Cartoon (UK, Record/Picture Sleeve, Chrysalis, CHS 2135). Sleeve is graded VG+ due to some inner-ring scuffing and a couple of light wrinkles. Record is graded G+ overall based on a little warping and a bad manufacturing job resulting in a "less-than-round" record. The record playing surface is not impacted and is graded VG+.
3. Jethro Tull - Moths/Life is a Long Song (UK, Record/Picture Sleeve, Chrysalis, CHS 2214). Sleeve is graded VG+, with some light wrinkles across the top edge and evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence". Record is graded M-.
4. Jethro Tull - Ring Out, Solstice Bells/March, the Mad Scientist/Christmas Song/Pan Dance (UK, EP, Record/Picture Sleeve, Chrysalis, CXP 2). Sleeve is graded G+, with some wrinkling and evidence of inner-ring "presence", with scuffing on the back of the sleeve. The biggest offense is that someone wrote "249" in blue ink in the upper-right corner of the sleeve front. The Record is graded Excellent.
5. Jethro Tull - A Stitch in Time/Sweet Dream (UK, White Vinyl, Record/Picture Sleeve, Chrysalis, CHS 2260). Sleeve is graded VG+, with a couple of wrinkles along the top edge and evidence of inner/outer-ring "presence. Record is graded M-.
6. Jethro Tull - A Passion Play (Edit #8)/A Passion Play (Edit #9) (US, Record Only, Chrysalis, CHS 2012). Record is VG+, due to some cosmetic manufacturing blemishes.
The auction starting price is set to primarily cover postage and insurance. I believe in the free market system. My main interest is in getting these items into the hands of a serious collector. The law of supply and demand will take care of the rest.
