Description
Jethro Tull, Thick As A Brick, Chrysalis CHR 1003, first UK issue, heavy card newspaper sleeve
I understand that this is the earliest UK issue, 1972, with the Island logo and radial text in white around the top of the labels.
The 12-page newspaper gatefold-style sleeve has a heavyweight card construction of the record pocket, with the Chrysalis logo on page 12.
Label: Chrysalis CHR1003, bruising around spindle hole.
Vinyl: clean and shiny, but this highlights the hairlines from sleeve removal; cannot feel any not scratches. Runouts on sides 1 and 2 stamped CHR 1003 A –3U and CHR 1003 B – 2U respectively, PORKY and PECKO etched.
Sleeve: clean, no fading, but heavy card has not worn well –spine worn; corners soft, with crease top right corner, with sign of small sticker residue; worn along bottom edge, with 3” split; back pocket has 6.5” split.
Newspaper insert: intact and not torn, but ‘join-the-dots’ on page 6 has been completed in light pencil.
Disc not play tested as I do not have a turntable, sorry.
Has been stored in the dark, vertical and supported, in smoke free and pet free house.
