If by chance you never picked up any version from the hundreds of different pressings that are available of this accidental gem of a live album, I would highly recommend this particular Capitol pressing even if you don’t decide to buy mine. I remember this album being released as a contractual obligation Jimi had with Capitol. Rather than going to court vs. a giant record company, Hendrix threw this live performance at Capitol, for their release, and avoided having to give them a dedicated studio album since there was no language in his contract with them specifying what the album had to contain. I’ve read he even considered a spoken word album (wouldn’t that have been interesting ?). This is a really great, tight and flowing performance from ”Band if Gypsies” that is mandatory in any Hendrix record collection (in my humble opinion of coarse). All that being said...
The copy I’m offering here is a beauty. It has been opened but remains in new condition. The shrink is still tight with the original “hype” sticker intact and the gatefold sleeve has never seen the light of day. The beautiful RED vinyl is mint. I’ve provided photos showing this record in normal lighting and with bright lights to show you the true color. It is pressed onto heavy 180g vinyl which ain’t bad either. If you don’t own a copy and considered acquiring it for your record shelf than here’s a good one.
