Description
I am selling part of my vinyl collection which has been accumulated over the years. I am not a dealer but have realised that if I pass these records on they will not be appreciated for what they are.
So on offer here is a beautiful copy of Electric Ladyland, by The Jimi Hendrix Experience, released on the Track Record Label in 1968. I bought this album from the original owner and have played it twice, most recently to remind me of the condition.
Copies of the White Text version are quite common, however this is a Solid Blue text with the large photos of Mitch Mitchell and Noel Redding. The story of this is that the first press was with White lettering, but the photos of Mitch and Noel were smaller than that of Jimi Hendrix, and they objected.
The album was reprinted with larger photos, but the printers used blue text as it was the same as the two single albums of Electric Ladyland that was released. Hendrix then passed away, and the album was reprinted again with the white text
I don’t know how many copies of the blue text version were released, but not that many I suspect and they are rare, especially this lovely condition
The laminated gatefold sleeve does have some wear on the tips of the corners, but has no rips, splits, or writing
There is slight rubbing on the top of the gatefold.
Having seen many copies of this album I have graded it Very Good Plus to Excellent
The vinyls are in great shape, having played them both through on my Michell Gyrodec/ Naim amplification at high volume I can confirm no pops, crackles skips or jumps , and the sound quality is outstanding !!
I have graded this as Excellent Plus, really superb audio !
The labels have the inverted catalogue number. The matrix numbers are 613008 A 1 1 on Record one, and on Record Two 613008 A1, on Record Two “B” has been scratched out and replaced with a handwritten “A”
The records will be sent in MOFI non static inners, and both albums were cleaned on my Okki Nokki record cleaner before listening
They will be sent in a professional record mailer used by record shops
