Jimmy Hannan-You Make Me Happy/Hokey Pokey Stomp-7” Single-1964 RG Records Australia-RG-557-Bee Gees

Extremely rare 1964 RG (Reg Grundy) Records’ Australian 7” single release of double A-side hit ‘You Make Me Happy’/’Hokey Pokey Stomp’ by Australian singer/entertainer Jimmy Hannan.  The single was a double A-side hit, with the B-side track ‘You Make Me Happy’ credited as the main hit, but both songs charted in the Sydney Top 40 in 1964.  The Bee Gees (although not credited on the label copy) provided backing vocals on both songs.  Jimmy Hannan had several chart singles in the 1960’s and he became one of Australia’s most popular TV stars (singer, actor, TV show compere, game show compere, entertainer).  His television career began in 1956 and less than 10 years later he had won a Gold Logie award (in 1965) – the highest accolade to be paid to an Australian TV actor/personality.  This copy of the single is from a music library archive and unlikely to have ever been played.  Housed in the original Festival Records Poly sleeve in Near Mint condition – two handwritten letters on sleeve.  Vinyl disc is in Near Mint condition – RG-557 (NM/NM)
