John Coltrane ?– Ascension VINYL Jasmine Records ?– JAS 45. Condition is "Used".
Here is a 1980's reissue of Ascension by John Coltrane on the UK Jasmine label. These reissues are a cut above the general standard of Jazz reissue from that era in my opinion and this is only up for sale because I managed to get a HMV copy for a very good price.
This is a towering piece of work from the greatest composer and instrumentalist in the history of Jazz. It is not an easy record to listen to, but it rewards you in so many ways for your time as you find yourself following one instrument through the mix. It takes you somewhere new almost every time you listen to it. This is probably not the place to start if you want to listen to Trane for the first time.
The cover is in excellent condition just a little dirty from age (nothing really bad but It is a white cover so it shows anything, I don't put my records in plastic outer covers as I have had issues with the record sleeves becoming stuck to the plastic over time) and the record is close to near mint, I found one small mark on it. My record player is currently out of action so I can't play test it but from memory it is a very good listen but please take this into account.
