John Coltrane GIANT STEPS Atlantic ST-A-59201 PR, stereo, 1972 pressing (originally released in 1960 as SD-1311)
Besides John Coltrane, musicians on the various tracks include: TOMMY FLANAGAN, WYNTON KELLY, PAUL CHAMBERS, ART TAYLOR, JIMMY COBB.
Giant Steps was originally issued in 1960 by Atlantic Records as SD-1311. The album was renumbered as ST-A-59201 PR, possibly in 1967 when Atlantic Records was taken over by Warner Brothers-Seven Arts.
ST-A-59201 C is etched in the dead wax.
This vinyl record was purchased in 1972. The pressing date is 1972 or possibly 1971.
I am not a record grader and cannot assess the record's playability since I no longer own a turntable and have not played the record since the mid 1970's. I am the original owner.
There are no visible scratches on the vinyl. The cover is in nice condition with very slight foxing evident on the back edges. There are no scuffs, stains or other issues. The corners are in very good condition. The inner sleeve is in excellent condition with no tears.
