This is the original issue with the textured gatefold sleeve, the earliest A//1 B//1 matrices and 1-1-1/1-1-1 stampers of the very 1st presses in EX+ condition.

John Entwistle as the bass player with the Who, became the first of the band to release a solo album in 1971 'Smash Your Head Against The Wall' and tour the USA on his own. The follow up album the following year 'Whistle Rymes' was a darker affair following the birth of his son and ongoing frustrations within the band. It features Peter Frampton on guitar and the title was also a play on the miss-spelling of his name in the press, poking fun at many contemporary attitudes. As with his first album it was a minor hit in the US at no.138 and he toured to support its release, but in the UK a deafening silence followed.....
  The E. J. Day Group textured matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some very light edge/corner wear and light storage rubbing on the outer cover and some light foxing on the inner cover. The spine is intact, in EX condition and fully readable, the dated company inner is intact, slightly discoloured & in EX condition.   The record is in visually EX+ condition, with only a couple of faint & wispy sleeve removal hairlines visible on each side, that do not affect play. The labels are in EX+ condition, clean & bright with no evidence of spindle markings.   The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with no loud pops or crackle & definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some low background noise during the run in grooves.
Overall, a really great, clear and punchy listen.   The matrix nos. are; 2406104, A//1 stamper 1-1-1, B//1, stamper 1-1-1. This is one of the earliest first few hundred copies of the 1st pressing of the original 1972 UK stereo issue of this album!

All albums are sent seperately in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!
