John Lee Hooker Rare Acetate Killer Blues! Unedited with studio chatter with John and producer. This very rare acetate is John Lee Hooker from the album later released as "Hooker N' Heat". Which, in my opinion, is a little strange because John is solo on some of these songs (guitar, vocals, footstomps) and some are accompanied by some of the members of the band (harmonica, piano) but are still very stripped down and sounds like a John Lee Hooker solo album. Also, this seems to be unedited with jokes between John and the producer and talking in between nearly every song. I found the recording date to be listed as May 1970 on AllMusic, and the dates on this record are two consecutive days in November 1970, so a few of these very well may be alternate cuts. Side A: (November 23, 1970) 1. Messin’ With The Hook 2. The Feelin’ Is Gone 3. Send Me Your Pillow 4. Sittin’ Here Thinkin’ 5. Meet Me In The Bottom. Side B: (November 24, 1970): 1. Alimonia Blues 2. Drifter 3. You Talk Too Much 4. Burning Hell 5. Bottle Up And Go. Acetate is shiny, has a few light marks on both sides, plays with minor to no surface noise. The only minor flaw is that the first song on the first side skips (keeps playing). The rest is pure gold. Clean labels, tight spindles. The fidelity on these acetates is amazing. Rare!
