JOHN LENNON & YOKO ONO - 'UNFINISHED MUSIC No.2 - LIFE WITH THE LIONS
John & Yoko's The second avant-garde experimental outing and the first release on the ZAPPLE label sold less than 5,000 copies on release in May 1969. Side 1 is a live recording from 2nd March 1969 at 'Lady Mitchell Hall' in Cambridge featuring John on guitar and Yoko on vocals. The whole side 2 was recorded on a cassette recorder in Room No. 1 Second West Ward, Queen Charlotte Hospital, Hammersmith and captures sounds and experiences of John & Yoko's time together there during her pregnancy and subsequent miscarriage.

This wonderfully preserved UK 1st pressing dating from initial May 1969 release bears the dark green Zapple label with the catalogue number: ZAPPLE 01.

Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK..' text (only present on initial pressings) and a 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 2 label.

A perfectly clean & unworn set with just two faint spindle trails around the side 1 centre hole but none on 2.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Unworn, deep-gloss playing surfaces which apart from a single 3mm surface mark on side 2 bear no significant marks or wear in strong daylight. Closer examination directly beneath my unforgiving, powerful halogen desk lamp reveals only a handful of harmless hairlines & a sparkling rainbow shine.

Sound Quality: NEAR MINT

This copy has been barely played and as a result the sound quality in unworn throughout. Aside from a few faint ticks on side 2 during some of the quieter passages, there is little to fault overall. The aforementioned surface mark on side 2 is inaudible.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

A superb clean & strong example which due to its fully intact shrinkwrapping, retains an unworn high-gloss laminate front and rear with just four light 'thumbnails' towards the front opening edge. There is light wear to the front opening edge itself but no tears or major damage to either. The corners have light bruising from storage but no heavy bumps.

The rear panel is unworn and undamaged and beneath the wrapping is 'as new'.

All seams are unstressed & unsplit and the spine is unworn. Not many around in this shape.
