Description
This is the highly prized boxed set of all of the Johnny Cash recordings recorded by Sun Records from 1954 to 1958 and released on Charly Records in 1984. The set contains 82 tracks on five LPs. In addition to 46 cuts as originally released on Sun, the set contains 13 tracks as originally recorded without the later overdubs, 14 previously unissued alternate takes and 3 previously unissued titles. This is truly the definitive Johnny Cash Sun Records anthology. Best of all, it's on vinyl so you can hear the songs the way they were meant to be heard when they were originally recorded.
The set also contains a 34 page LP-sized booklet with an introduction by Sam Phillips, an overview of Cash's Sun record career, a detailed session discography, loads of photos, and music biz magazine clippings from the period.
The box is a little roughed up on the corners from my hauling it around from house to during the past twenty years but the records are in near mint condition (no scratches, no skips), as is the booklet. Buyer pays Priority Mail shipping.
