Test Play Result

Plays faultlessly Full test play after professional wash, on a Stanton Turntable with a Shure Cartridge. Test Play confirms visual grading, no sign of wear related noise or damage in reproduction. I heard only one or two occasional pops or tics that you expect from Vinyl reproduction. The replay quality prove this has rarely been played or mishandled

Condition of plain white studio dust jacket

Excellent + There are some corner bends, but no seam splits, very slight yellowing.  This is a plain white paper bag, does this qualify it as a 'Butchers Paper/ cover' edition????

No picture sleeve as with most test or early promo editions.

Special Notes

Nearly all singles/EP's offered over the coming weeks were most probably owned as a sample/Demo copy by one of Sydneys best known top 40 DJ's from the 60's from Radio 2KO, one of the pioneers in 1962, of top 40 radio in Australia (NOW KOFM).

Original DJ owners Name appears on more than one of the dust jackets from this collection. (BUT NOT THIS ONE) If you listened to top 40 in Sydney, or Regional NSW at the time of this recordings release date, it might have been this single you heard. No I don't mean this recording I mean THIS RECORD, However these singles/EP's look so clean and unmarked generally, it seems unlikely it was  played by this DJ more than a few times ,and remained in the dj's private collection,an uncirculated 46 year old first pressing,

Sample/Demo singles were sent to DJ's, Radio stations or people of influence, often prior to public release date, often with a special liner note to help 'promote' the new release and encourage the person sent the disc to add it to their playlist or review it etc. This of course means the promo disc was one of the first pressed, and often done with a little more care, to make sure the sample copy was going to reproduce well for the intended receiver.  First pressings off of any master stamper are the preferred option for record collectors in all genre's as they are recognised as having the highest possible definition in sound quality before the natural decline in the Master Stamper takes its toll on quality in pressings, that may have sold in the tens of thousands of copies.

It is conceivable given the size of the market in the early/late 60's in Australia, that these sample copies were pressed, possibly in the first thousand or less from the master stamper and sent out prior to commercial release date. Some of the auction items have dates warning the receiver not to play publicly before certain dates, noted by a sticker on the recording or jacket, other than the rubber stamped or stuck on 'demo copy' warning.
