Description

Original UK Vertigo large spiral label stereo 1st press LP.
The debut album by Juicy Lucy released in 1969. The music is a heavy form of blues-rock, often played at break-neck speed. The album was a moderate success, reaching number 41 on the U.K. album chart, but produced a hit single with their version of Bo Diddley's 'Who Do You Love'. With the large spiral Vertgo label with the corrected 1Y//1 2Y//2 matrix, first issued in November 1969 with the 'Phillips Records Product' label text and 1-1-2 1-1-1 stampers of the earliest 1st pressings!
The matt gatefold sleeve is intact & in EX condition, with some light storage scuffing & edge/corner wear on the outer cover and the inner cover has some light rubbing. The spine is intact & fully readable, the spiral inner is intact, slightly discoloured & in EX condition. The record is in visually EX condition, with a couple of wispy sleeve removal hairlines and needle scuffs on both sides visible under bright light. The labels are in EX condition, clean & bright with evidence of a couple of faint spindle markings on each side. The sound reproduction is EX+, still clear & precise throughout with definately no skips, sticks or jumps, but there is some brief background noise during the run in grooves, overall, a really great, loud and punchy listen! The matrix nos. are; (VO-2) scratched out, 847901 (hand etched), 1Y//1-420-1-1-2, 2Y//2-420-1-1-1. This is one of the very earliest pressings of the original 1969 UK stereo 1st issue of this album!

All grades are those used in the Record Collector Guide. All lp's are sent in cardboard record mailers with plastic covers and cardboard stiffeners to protect the LP's!!
