Description

I am offering for auction ,King Crimson's classic album ,COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING.This is an original 1969 first pressing in stereo on the extremely rare and collectible pink Island label.
The record and matrix numbers are;  ILPS 9111

This is a genuine first pressing.Only first pressings were on the pink label with the white i logo.
Vinyl Description Excellent ++
Visual inspection reveals overall surface is smooth and glossy with a mirror-like finish on heavyweight vinyl.Some minor paper scuffs which cannot be heard when record is playing.The record lies perfectly flat on the turntable and shows no visible warp when spinning.The labels are immaculate with no writing or marks.There are very few faint spindle traces around centre hole.Considering this record is thirty-nine years old it is in fantastic condition.
The real test of this record has got to be the opening track on side two,"Moonchild."There is some very soft minor crackle during the first section but this does not disturb the listening in any way.This track is renown for its silences interspersed with tappings and tinklings and overall this copy performs extremely well with minimal interference from surface noise,normal for vinyl.
Apart from the occasional static tic in quiet passages the remaining tracks perform to an excellent standard.
The audio quality is superb! Crystal clear sound from this first pressing.No audible distortion over the full dynamic range.Stunning clarity and depth. It plays without sticking,jumping and there are no loud pops or clicks caused by scratches.I would say the play grade is excellent ++.It would be extremely difficult to find a copy to better this one.This is a MEGA RARE copy!

This is the first press un-laminated gatefold cover by E.J.Day.It is very prone to wear however there is no colour fading or signs of age except for some rubbing along the spine.The spine remains solid and is still readable.Some corner wear and edge rubbing.No writing or marks whatsoever to cover;still looks really good.Inner sleeve is the original poly-lined in excellent condition.
