Hello and welcome to The Highlander Treasure HoWe sell most everything at a HUGE discount just for you!!!
We grade our records, LPs, EPs and 45s using the standard guidelines found in Goldmine's Record Album Price Guide and Jerry Osborne Official Price Guide. It still comes down to our personal decision on final grading which we think is a fare assessment of condition.
Our job is to sell our inventory and with that said, we promise to give you the best deal we can. Most items will include a "Or Best Offer" but while waiting for a response, the item could sell and you'll miss out! Only reasonable offers will be considered and please READ the following.......OK, lets get started...
MINT - Forget about it! Often rumored but rarely seen, the only thing close is an unopened copy (which can still have flaws). Sealed copies will always command a premium over Near Mint prices.
NEAR MINT - A good description of NM is it simply looks like it was just store bought, opened and played. Looks nearly perfect (no major flaws on the vinyl or cover including factory defects, only faint if any) This is the top current average prices you see in official price guides.
VERY GOOD PLUS - VG+ has faint signs of wear. May or may not have light scratches or scuffs, faint surface noise, even minor warping as long as playability is not effected. Cover can have some very minor seam wear or split (No More than one inch long), light corner or ring wear and the occasional factory stamp, basically better than average and well cared for. VG++ even better.
VERY GOOD - Ok, we are in the middle of the road here and always worth the money. A record in VG (average or common) condition, is a collectible and proud to own, that still looks good and plays well. They may have these flaws, a little more surface noise, a few more light scratches (No Skips) minor warping and light label fading. The cover has signs of being handled a bit, with more ring wear, a couple of small splits, also some personal writings, stamps or price tags, but not all three at the same time (don't damage cover removing tags!) We are talking normal wear here. (If a NM cover has inked initials, etc, it's downgraded toVG)
LOWER GRADES - Are Good, Poor, and Fare. The G graded records are your everyday played and enjoyed by music lovers. These are still very collected and are used as filler records till sharper ones come along. The vinyl plays from beginning to end without skipping (crackels and pops are not skips) and the covers are no longer VG, well handled and well loved. Don't discard these, enjoy them (I do!) you may not be able to replace them. With that said, we do not sell anything below Good - example of our pricing will be 10 to 50% of NM for the very rare only, guaranteed. Everything else is priced to sell quick at just $ 1.99 each (even if they are VG+, NM or sealed ). I do mostly a visual inspection and try to give an overall opinion of condition ( for example: If the cover and vinyl are VG+ that will be the overall grading, If the cover is VG and the vinyl is VG+ the grading will look like this VG/VG+ (cover first, then vinyl) I also do a quick D4 cleaning before I ship and professionally pack for safety. (please note: we are not in the record cleaning business, we recommend that all used vinyl be professionally or throughly cleaned.)
Our shipping and handling is low at $4.00 in the U.S. $7.00 to Canada ( 0.50 cents for each record after that up to five vinyls per carton, double albums count as two vinyls, you will need to request an invoice for two or more, so I can make the shipping adjustment on the invoice) We charge $16.00 outside the country, add $2.50 for each additional vinyl.
