Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
Here for auction is a really fantastic copy of the scarce and sought after first LP by Keith Tippett. Recording as 'The Keith Tippett Group' the LP is titled 'you are here...I am there', a stereo pressing on Polydor Standard number '2384 004' released in 1969.
This my friends is simply a copy to die for.
The outer sleeve, laminated on the front and rear is in stunning condition. The only faults are a minor area of barely visible toning down the spine and one or two small dark spots visible against the predominantly white background (see my pictures).
The lined inner is in near mint condition with only some slight rippling over its surface to show it isn't new.
The all important vinyl is nothing short of spectacular. I could find no visible mark on the vinyl or on either of the two labels under any lighting conditions. On play the record is stunning with fantastic well captured instrumental fidelity. I could detect no audible signs of any previous play, only the odd spit from a piece of dust or from static.
So there it is, a rare Tippett masterpiece, in fantastic original condition; overall I would rate this copy EX+/M.
