Description
I have been an obsessive collector of vinyl LP's and singles for many years, and from the very first I have always been very careful about the condition of the records I have bought. Once in my posession the records have been well stored and always very carefully handled. If the records have been played at all, it has always been on a good quality hi - fi system, the deck being a Linn LP12 deck with a top of the range arm and cartridge.
As a result, most of the many thousands of items in my collection are in excellent condition or better.
Now, in order to create more space at home, I have decided to cut the collection back to a core of my personal favourite artistes, and to dispose of the remainder. These I intend to list for auction over the coming months.
For auction here is an original UK stereo copy of the Kevin Ayers LP entitled 'Joy of a toy' on Harvest number SHVL 763, issued in 1969.
The laminated gatefold cover is generally in great condition, with minimal edge bumping and the smallest of creases at the spine. It has a little soiling on the opening side where the clarifoil stops and the glue tends to leech out and collect grime. Internally the gatefold is fine with the lightest suggestion of a few light brown spots. The Harvest advertisment lined inner bag is present and apart from a little age toning and light creasing appears to be without fault.
The vinyl is bright and clean with so signs of misuse even under side lighting. The labels are in great condition with light signs of spindle hole wear. On play it sounds very good with little suggestion of heavy use in the past - certainly I've had it for nearly 20 years and only played it once. I'd rate this EX-/EX on the Record Collector grading system
It is offered at No RESERVE and at a very low opening bid price.
