IMPORTANT NOTE: I have been a buyer of vinyl records on Ebay and elsewhere online for quite some time so I know well all pain and frustration the buyers get due to incorrect or misleading descriptions of records provided by some sellers (even 100 % positive - my experience) that unfortunately becomes an increasing problem on Ebay. So my description is made from a buyer`s and not from a seller`s standpoint. My goal is to sell and make purchase pleasant to a buyer otherwise why buy music.
An ABSOLUTE RARITY and almost IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND the EARLIEST PRESSING EVER out of all set of the 1st pressings circulating in the market of this wonderful and iconic progressive rock album by the legendary band. You can frequently see A2/B4 or less frequently A2/B3 matrices but THIS ONE with matrices A2/B2 gets on surface so rare. I have spent months and months trying to find this pressing. So now it is a UNIQUE opportunity to become an owner of this UNDISPUTABLE RARITY. It has been in my collection for years and been well taken care for. I have tried so hard and recently managed to upgrade it for insanely huge amount of money so this one goes up for sale to really please someone else by owning this undoubtedly brilliant album. There is NO OTHER WAY to let it go away.
1969 UK STEREO 1st PRESSING on the PINK ISLAND RECORD LABEL ILPS 9111, with 1st ISSUE E. J. DAY unlaminated gatefold sleeve. Complete with the DECCA polylined inner sleeve that is in Near Mint condition.
The sleeve is in VG to VG+ condition - please see as many pictures uploaded as ebay allowed. The pictures speak for themselves. I have tried to visualize as many flaws to the cover as possible. Overall this is a decent example of this outstanding sleeve. All in all one may find this cover in a better condition in the marketplace to replace this one if the need be.
But the best beauty of this record is the vinyl itself. The vinyl is visually in strong EX+ condition having just a few tiniest lines and hairlines not at all affecting play. I have played it in full prior to listing and overall playback is so great with no flaws but some very very light background noise in quiet places that is almost unhearable. Even Moonchild sounds great that is very often not the case because this is the most sensitive flaws-wise part on the album. Certainly NO jumps, skips or pops. My conservative play grade is EX++. Amazing
The Pink Island labels with white “I” logos are in brilliant and unmarked condition. There is virtually no wear to the spindle hole.
I believe there is no need to say more. One should really go for such a great and rare pressing of this tremendous album
Grading is based on the Record Collectors Grading System.
PACKAGING
LPs are packaged in a manner to ensure safe traveling using stiffeners and professional envelopes to ensure safe arrival in the same condition as they leave. Records are removed from the sleeve in order to prevent seam splits in transit.
