Description
This MINT two-disc vinyl LP set comes from Westwood One Radio's "In Concert" series, originally broadcast in 1991. The set consists of live concerts by Dire Straits and the Kinks, along with commercials for play during the radio broadcast. These come in the original cardboard box used for sending to radio stations, and include like-new original radio cue sheets. As a bonus, we are including two 1970s vintage photographs (black & white prints), one of Ray Davies and one of Mick Avory of the Kinks. Each of these photos would be worth at least $10 on its own, but we are including them for no extra charge. Please see descriptive photos contained in this posting.
These recordings were never made commercially available, but come brand-new and unplayed from the collection of Sandy Gibson, musicologist, who wrote and produced the 14-hour, internationally syndicated, "The Doors: Setting the Record Straight," for Westwood One Radio in 1988. Gibson is a radio documentarian and former Director of Publicity at Atlantic Records, and one half of the online Musiographi team.
