Description

Here is another selection from a collection of original 50s/60s LPs.

This is the UK original Pye version of The Kinks' "Face To Face"

Again, I shall assume if you are reading this then you know what you are looking at, so straight to the relevant details.

Pye NPL 18149

Matrix numbers:

Side 1: NPL 18149 A2 (then a triangle shape) H. T (or could be L) is etched in the dead wax. 

Side 2: NPL 18149 B2 (then same triangle) H. D is etched in the dead wax.

The Garrod & Lofthouse "Patents Pending" cover is simply superb. The laminate is fully intact. The spine is intact, unflattened, clean and clearly readable..All 3 flipbacks are immaculate. There is very little yellowing to the rear cover.

The labels have few spindle traces, and are very clean with no stickers/marks/writing. 

The vinyl has some flaws. It has a few hairlines and scuffs, notably 3 long ones on side 1. You can probably make this out from the photograph.

I have listened painstakingly twice; there are definitely no skips or pops. I hear 4 soft clicks during side 1, and there is some very faint crackle during the silences between tracks. Altogether it plays remarkably well - at least VG+.

I don't try and hoodwink with my descriptions, hence the rather brutal assessment of faults above. 

The record will be very securely packed in a box mailer with lots of extra padding.
