Voted the 141st best album in the recent book "The Thousand Best L.P's Ever" The Kinks Village Green Preservation Society released in 1968 has over the years become something of a collectors item. This is a "one owner since new" original first press 1968 U.K. Mono recording on the PYE Blue label NPL 18233. This album failed to make the charts either in the U.K. or America and so is a reasonable scarce album indeed.

The record is in excellent condition, pressed in thick vinyl with no apparent scratches or marks. In my opinion it plays as good as new and looks almost the same. The record labels are in good condition although there are some light spindle marks on either side. There is no writing or any other visible damage.

However whilst the record retains it's almost good as new looks the gatefold cover has suffered some light damage. Overall it is  in reasonable condition although there is a short tear  to the opening edge of the front cover which has been repaired at some time using selotape (oops!) and some damage to a small area of the laminate above Ray Davis head (see photo) Generally the laminate is in reasonable condition with some lifting down the spine although all the wording on the spine is readable., The back cover has four small ballpoint pen crosses against four of the tracks in the track list but otherwise is in good condition. The inside covers are in good condition although there is a selotape strip approx. three inches long which was used in the repair to the front cover. The album comes with what I believe is the original sleeve.

This is an honest appraisal of the record and cover. A very good condition and sounding thirty six year old record and a  reasonable conditon on the thirty six year old cover.
