Description
This is a 1918 RCA Victor record with two popular patriotic songs -- K-K-K-Katy and The Last Long Mile. The condition of the record is good but it does have scratches as the result of less than careful storage. This record was last played in the 1930s and has been in storage since then.
Billy Murray (1877 - 1954) was tenor and vaudeville performer who recorded extensively in the early 1900s. K-K-K-Katy was a popular World War I song written in 1977 and recorded for RCA Victor in 2018. It is labeled a "Comic Song" on the record label but many considered it patriotic. K-K-K-Katy was written in 2017 by Geoffery O'Hara (1882 - 1967)
The Last Long Mile (also called the Plattsburgh Marching Song) was composed by Emil Breitenfeld (1888 - 1964) while training with the 17th New York Regiment in Plattsburgh, New York in 1917. This 1918 recording on the A-side was done by Charles Hart and the Shannon Four. This was a popular World War I era song.
