KRAFTWERK

“TRANS-EUROPE EXPRESS”

(EXPRESO TRANS-EUROPEO)

ULTRA MEGARARE original Stereo Records, very first Stereo press released in Chile in 1977 by Capitol Records, licensed from Capitol Records, USA, made and distributed by EMI ODEON CHILENA S.A. (EMI Records), catalog number 5172, with hand etched matrix numbers SW 1-11603 1 in Side A and SW 2-11603 1 in Side B. It’s interesting to notice that in cover the tracklist and all text is in English but in labels the title of the album is in Spanish only, “EXPRESO TRANS-EUROPEO”, and tracklist is in Spamnish too, but translated to English. Yes, ANOTHER GREAT FIND FROM CHILE!!! AND WHAT A SUPERB CONDITION!!!

“TRANS-EUROPE EXPRESS” by Kraftwerk was originally released in 1977 and the same year we got this great album released here in Chile, but not with a gatefold cover. In this case the cover is a traditional flipback cover made of 2 single laminated pieces of cardboard, with front cover pasted on the flips. The cover keeps the original artwork for both front and back cover with all the text in English, only the information this is a Chilean press is informed in Spanish in back cover. However the most interesting thing about this album released here in Chile is the WHITE LABELS!!! This is an authentic PROMOTIONAL copy with labels with no logo, only the word “CAPITOL” informing the original record company, and below that word the text “Disco Promocional – Venta Prohibida” (PROMOTIONAL RECORD – SALE FORBIDDEN). How many times have you seen this record? Did you ever know the existence of this record? Yes Sirs, this is one of those jewels you don’t see so often and here you have the chance to own this copy in GREAT CONDITON!!!

The cover was already described and it’s in great EX- or EX condition both the front and back cover, clear and clean, with no marks, no writings, no rips, no blemishes, no seam splits, only some light creases and minimal wear at all edges and corners, with lamination still complete and solid. Record is in EX+ or NM- condition both sides, glossy and clean, no scratches at all, no marks, only some light scuffs and some light hairlines hard to see, which don’t affect sound at all. White labels are in absolute NM or NM+ condition in both sides, clean and clear, with no marks or writings, not even spindle wear. Sound is incredible, it’s in great EX or EX+ condition the Side 1 and in EX+ or NM- the Side 2, but most of songs play NM- or NM, with no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), loud and clear, only with some minimal light crackles here and there, which of course don’t distract at all of the great sound of this  masterpiece album. Overall, Sirs, a great classic record with MEGARARE PROMOTIONAL WHITE LABELS in still almost immaculate condition and with an amazing sound quality from the beginning to the end in spite of the 35 years old!!! And, yes Sirs, WHAT A FIND!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

Thanks for watching and bidding, good luck and best regards from Chile

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

FEEDBACK

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first. But we know that’s not fair for buyers. So, we leave feedback immediately after to receive the payment, because we understand that’s the part that buyers must receive feedback for. And we expect to receive a positive feedback from buyers who receive the records immediately after they have got the records.

IMPORTANT TO READ

We are not responsible for all the taxes, duties, fees you could have to pay in your country, but I always declare the records as gift.

If you have some doubt or question feel free to contact us, we will be glad to answer all that you want to know about this item.
