The LP is in EX/EX+ condition. Side one is EX+. No surface noise, almost no pops/ticks. and just one very faint 2 rev tick. Side two is VG/VG+. There is no surface noise,and also very few pops/ticks, but there are several very quiet repetitive ticks. There are three 2 rev ticks and two 3 rev ticks, a 5 rev, and then one lasting almost a minute. They are all very quiet, at times almost inaudible. The sound is excellent. The cover is in VG+/EX condition. A few marks here and there and scuffing on the edges, but it is in nice presentable shape.
This record was produced for the 1985 Bach Tercentenary Celebrations, and it is a worthy way to celebrate Bach's genius. Karl Suske was the leader of the Staatskapelle Berlin and the Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, as well as being a distinguised soloist. The quality of his playing is clear to hear in this recording.
As I have mentioned there are several quiet repetitive ticks on side 2. I still give it a VG+/EX rating as personally I found them barely noticeable, and even the longer tick didn't bother me unduly. The sound quality remains excellent throughout. An exceptional record.
This LP comes from a large collection of records owned by a retired music professor that I am selling on his behalf. I do no grade the records visually, I listen to them in their entirety and try to give as accurate description of the condition as I can.
