Description

Unbelievable set of six lp's from Rod Kennedy Presents Kerrville Folk Festival spanning, 1972, 73, 74, 75 (double lp) and 76. The 1973 one is the Volume 2 only -- I don't have the Volume 1 with Willie Nelson unfortunately. What is included are two cuts from Townes Van Zandt including Tecumseh Valley from 1973 and Poncho and Lefty from 1975. All tracks were recorded at the festival and the number of artists is expansive as you might imagine. To name but a few Jerry Jeff Walker, Mike Seeger, Peter Yarrow, Bobby Bridger, Kenneth Threadgill, Guy Clark, Segle Fry, Robert Shaw, Asleep at the Wheel, Southern Strangers, Ray Wiley Hubbard, Hondo Crouch, Bill Neely, Carolyn Hester, Rick Stein, Plum Nelly and Augie Meyer. The photography on the covers is cool as well even featuring a picture of Darrell Royal of Texas Longhorn football fame who showed up to party. I listened to about half of the albums and they sound very good and the covers though showing some scuffs are solid -- I'd grade the vinyl at VG++ and covers at VG+ -- winning bidder will not be disappointed. From what I understand each of these albums were limited to a run of about 1,000 each so they're very hard to find. Great opportunity for anyone who loves this style of 70's Texas folk music.
