Khachaturian Spartacus Gayaneh UK Decca SXL 6000 WBG
The Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Aram Khachaturian performs music from the composer’s own “Spartacus” and “Gayaneh” Ballets. An English stereo pressing on the Decca Label (SXL 6000 stampers 2E/2E), the labels are black with Original Recording by … at 10 o’clock, a full frequency stereophonic sound “fatband” and logo and a groove. The record is of excellent appearance, and plays and sounds superb with a minimum of surface noise. The cover has some creases, most notably at the bottom right-hand corner and the laminate has lifted along the spine edge.
