Description
The third and final installment in a series of singles from King Gizzard the Wizard Lizard's album Polygondwanaland, this disc includes the songs "Polygondwandaland", and "The Fourth Colour". The band released this album under the creative commons and encouraged fans to press their own versions in whatever format they like. To our knowledge the first single in this series was the first release made available worldwide after the band released the record. This is the third and final installment in a three piece series, and is a very limited edition run of only 33 copies. No more will be made!
This record is a special collectors edition made on bright blue translucent NOS Gray Audograph Dictation System discs which were a voice transcription system from the 50's. You can see what they originally looked like in the pictures! In honor of the album, they have also been cut into polygon shapes. The Odd numbers are seven sided and even numbers are nine sided. If you have a preference we are glad to oblige until stock runs out. The cover is custom printed Black & White and Color print on the original Gray Audograph jackets that came with the discs. All in all a very unique conversation piece.
Cut on 12-1-18, ALC-003 Release Date 12-11-18
This is a lathe cut record cut on a tube powered record lathe from the early 1950s. As such it should be regarded as a functional art object and a collector's item that happens to play music. This is a bit of an experimental release and due to the material these discs are made out of, sound quality is a little more Lo-Fi than a typical for a lathe cut, with scratches and noise present but not overwhelming. It will not diminish in quality with repeated plays, but it does not match the fidelity of a proper vinyl pressing release. Thanks for looking!
