This handsome and rare LP from La Voix de son Maitre · EMI 'Les Gravures Illustres' (COLH 19, French Pathé Marconi pressing, gray label, mono, “baguette”-style sturdy jacket, dowel spine)

There have been fine Kreisler albums from the likes of Ricci, Campoli, Perlman, et al., but Kreisler is hard to beat in this repertoire, playing with an old world Viennese elegance that has vanished from this world.

These performances should be in the collection of all those who cherish the art of the violin – a wonderful LP.

All recordings are with pianist Franz Rupp, made at Studio No. 3, Abbey Road, London, in February 1938.

PLEASE NOTE:

These La Voix de son Maitre “baguette” issues with the dowel spine are quite heavy – even with minimal packaging, prepared for shipping they weigh over 600 kg. This means that outside of Europe the cost for shipping is about $30 USD, and that is just for standard airmail. Certified airmail (with a tracking number) costs $33 USD. Those in doubt can visit the Spanish postal website (Correos.es), which is available in English. Although this listing states “free” shipping, it is not really free, of course. I have to pay for shipping like everyone else.

Anyway, all this to say that those who feel the price is high need to take the cost of shipping into account. If you have any questions or doubts, feel free to write and I will be happy to help. Thank you.

CONDITION:

The gradations of condition I use are as follows: MINT, Near-Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor.

The condition of the  jacket is near-MINT. Though there is some mild discoloration and very slight corner wear, really this is a very fine copy. There are no seamsplits, bends, owners' markings, or other defects, and the album remains solid, bright, and quite attractive – overall, a lovely collector's copy.

The condition of the dowel spine is VERY GOOD. There is a 2” split to the left-side of the paper sleeve, but that is all – otherwise, a fine copy.

The condition of the LP itself is EXCELLENT. Though there is occasional light surface noise, in general the playback remains quite fine. However, those wanting a flawless or near-MINT copy are kindly advised to look elsewhere. Overall, this rates as an excellent collector's copy.

This LP has been carefully cleaned using a VPI cleaning machine. All LPs are provided with a new Nagaoka (or Nagaoka-style) inner sleeve.
