La Monte Young, Marian Zazeela The Theatre Of Eternal Music - Dream House 78' 17"
Shandar, France, 1973, gatefold cover is stuck shut due to water damage.

Cover is water damaged, with the gatefold stuck shut, has thin, vertical ripples ( wavy bends), some wear around edges and corners, small spots of cover pull up, also some label damage. Lp has only light wear and a few scuffs causing some light surface noise.
Two sides of monotonal drones clocking in at nearly 40 minutes a side ( at over 78 minutes on one lp, it should really have been a double album at this point) by former John Cale, Tony Conrad collaborator Young, with his fabled Theatre of Eternal Music thing in full swing. Side 1 has male and female sort of mono-syllabic "Om" -like chanting blended with occasional brass/ winds, keys, etc., sounding the same single note, in a juxtaposed monotonal buzz for nearly 40 minutes, while side 2 has what sounds like an organ feedback drone or mechanical hum going seemingly unabated for almost 40 minutes. Minimalism that makes Terry Riley's works look maximal by contrast. This has been hailed as genius by some, the ultimate verdict on which is still open to public interpretation. Now quite rare.
Please note once again that the cover is generally damaged, and the record sounds ok but is a bit worn. It is offered here mainly on the strength of its rarity and unusual nature, not to mention its status within the canon of La Monte Young's work.
