THINGS WE SAID TODAY/BIKER LIKE AN ICON (Capitol 17319, white vinyl), the first time an ex-Beatle re-recorded a Beatles song and released it on a 45 (they're both non-LP cuts, too); OFF THE GROUND/COSMICALLY CONSCIOUS (Capitol 17318, white vinyl), two more non-LP songs in the rare "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" series; and

MAYBE I'M AMAZED/BAND ON THE RUN (Capitol 98995, gold vinyl), a rare PROMOTIONAL issue ("NOT FOR SALE" on the labels); one of only two promos in the entire "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" Beatles solo series!

The "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" colored vinyl Capitols are the rarest Beatles "store-stock" 45s ever authorized in the U.S.  They're the only colored wax singles Capitol released, and no reissue 45s have been pressed in the decade-plus since.  Only 5000 or so of each title were issued; the market for jukebox 45s was drying up as juke-jobbers switched to CDs.  Compare the rarity of these beautiful colored vinyl records to the millions of orange-and-yellow swirls and black vinyl reissues Capitol sold from the sixties to the nineties.  Three of the Beatles singles in this lot were previously unreleased on 45; this is the only way to get these tunes on a domestic 45.  Savvy collectors have noted the rapid price escalation of the "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" colored vinyl discs, and are snapping them up before the rest of the Beatles-collecting world catches on.

"Wait just a darned minute", we hear you thinking, "your title says there's 22 records in this lot, not 19..."  Here's a special bonus: FREE AS A BIRD (Apple/Capitol 58497 w/picture sleeve), John Lennon's demo that was completed by Paul, George, and Ringo and issued (to great acclaim) in 1995; and REAL LOVE (Apple/Capitol 58544 w/picture sleeve), the follow-up from 1996 that's the last new Beatles production (it's not in the photo, but you'll get it nevertheless!).  We'll also throw in LADY MADONNA (Capitol 2138, purple Starline label), which wasn't included in the colored vinyl "FOR JUKEBOXES ONLY!" reissues.  This trio isn't on colored wax, and we don't have jukebox title strips for them, but they're UNPLAYED MINT like the others, and all have tough-to-find flip sides: FREE has the first uninterrupted release of The Beatles yuletide classic CHRISTMAS TIME IS HERE AGAIN; REAL LOVE has a previously-unreleased live performance of BABY'S IN BLACK from 1965, and LADY has George Harrison's non-LP cut THE INNER LIGHT.  Very cool flips, and that makes 22.
