LAUTH QUARTET Lp by THE WOLFGANG LAUTH QUARTET. Original Italian pressing on the FONIT CETRA label (SFC 190), from 1978. Obscure and really impressive Italian-only release by the cult German jazz group. Actually a sextet session with a funky and groovy Library sound. Features Wolfgang Lauth on fender rhodes electric piano with crack studio session men. Mood music (possibly used in Italian film or television) mixing up modal jazz / funk / lounge / Brazilian rhythms / baroque scales and psychedelia. Lots of latin flute / break-beat drums / e-piano solos / jazz vibraphone / wah wah / latin percussion / sophisticated beats and breaks. Great for DJs. Our soundclip opens with the killer modal jazz waltz of DORETTE followed by several other important themes, including MIKE'S TUNE (with atmospheric Piero Umiliani - Cinque Bambole Per La Luna D'Agosto style flute and rhythm motifs). Much more early '70s in feel, like a fusion of Sante Palumbo's Stasera In Casa Seduti In Poltrona Con La Luce Diffusa and Barigozzi Woman's Colors Library. Shades of the Joy Unlimited And The Continentals - Soul Rock Bossa Nova session (also on the same label too). Rare Lp!!! Our record grading: SEALED / M- / VG++ / VG+ / VG 

Vinyl is close to M- condition with a couple of hairlines from sleeve removal / storage. Some faded, old pressing residue marks and light surface noises but common for this release, in general. Item previously sealed and opened to record the soundclip. The laminated sleeve is close to M- condition with sharp corners / original shrinkwrap and minimal wear. A little sleeve bending from the tight shrink and some age spotting under the shrink (back sleeve only). A couple of tears to shrink (back sleeve, at open side). Camera flash glare to sleeve and label photo. Rare Lp!!!
