Interesting historical backround on this rare obscurity.
"Le Triangle" members had originally started playing together in the early 1960s, working under such names as The Phantoms, Ray Blake's Combo and The Dominoes, eventually recording some rare cuts as The Soul Brothers (backing up Montreal soul legend Trevor Payne). By 1966, with Trevor Payne gone solo and now down to a trio, Pierre Senecal (organ, piano, synths), Jerry Mercer (drums, percussion) and Rayburn Blake (guitars) were gigging & tripping on the Montreal underground club scene when they renamed themselves "Le Triangle" (Note: this is not the similarily-named French rock band from France).
The Triangle recorded just this one single, and while it features an interesting soul-tinged A-side "Deux Miroirs" ("Two Mirrors") penned by Senecal, it's the all-instrumental organ-driven psychedelic soul B-side that's raised this genuine rarity onto the podium of coveted collectables.
Following their unique single, Le Triangle were joined by Brian Edwards (bass, vocals) and renamed themselves once again (this time after a popular halucinagenic, "Mashmakhan"), and signed with Columbia releasing 2 long plays. Following Mashmakhan's breakup in 1972, Jerry Mercer cut a rare LP with D'Arcy (the highly-coveted "Back At The Beginning") and finally joined April Wine. Rayburn Blake and Brian Edwards formed "Riverson" releasing their own folk-psych monster in 1973.
