While 'Cherry Knowle' might be the album most topically discussed when delving into the proto-post-punk anthemics of Leatherface, there's no denying the disparity in opinion that grows the deeper you tunnel. 1993's 'Minx', the band's fourth full-length and follow up to the much adored, 'Mush', exuded a far more melodious, tempered approach to composition, which some listeners initially wrote off as toothless and unnecessarily polished. Time healing all wounds as it does, love and respect have manifested over time for what was essentially the sound of Frankie Stubbs eager to push his song writing credentials beyond the venom and snarl, yet still keeping the razor-sharp insightful lyricism on full display.
