Description

LED ZEPPELIN 1ST LP 1969 TURQUOISE SLEEVE EARLIEST EVER 2 LABEL ERRORS G/VG.

The very first issue of the first Led Zeppelin LP is very special probably limited to about 2000 copies. It had a turquoise logo on the sleeve which the band hated so it was altered to an orange sleeve. However there are different versions of this sleeve and record label which make this very special indeed. 1/The sleeve has a grey stripe at the bottom. 2/ The sleeve has a turquoise logo. 3/ The record labels have superhype credits on the labels, later ones on the orange label have warner brothers credits. 4/ The label on side one is extra special because there is a label error,Track 3 is credited to jewel music and superhype which is impossible so quickly corrected. 5/ The label on side 2 is also extra special because track 2 black mountain music is virtually touching track one with no gap so again quickly corrected. 6/ The matrix numbers are uncorrected ,on later issues a number 8 is crossed out. 7/The matrix is A11 /B11 so earliest ever. 8/The inner sleeve has the correct numbers. So possibly all these errors only happened on the earliest pressings maybe the first 50 but maximum 500.
LABELS Unblemished near mint no writing on the labels RECORD I would grade as VG.It plays through with no skips or jumps just slight background noise in quiet sections but not obstrusive. When held up to a bright light there are numerous lines but no scratches and only really visible under a bright light. The record has been professionally cleaned ultra violet and with a loricraft audio PRC-3 It plays VG+ but this is my opinion. SLEEVE I would grade the sleeve as G.The definition in record collector is the cover suffers from folding scuffing of edges spine splits discoloration etc.The word atlantic and led zeppelin can be read but the catalogue number is not readable. There is damp damage to the bottom left looking from the front. So this is not a mint sleeve and record. If it were, the value would be between 3 and £5000 but it is a playable copy but do not bid if you are after a mint copy. I have taken 12 photographs so please look at them carefully. The record will be well packaged with the record separated from the sleeve .Due to the value I will send out special delivery payment by Paypal. Will accept returns buyer pays return postage.FREE POSTAGE IN U.K.TO WINNING BIDDER PLEASE NOTE I AM NOT SENDING TO INTERNATIONAL BUYERS EXCEPT R O I. The auction has a low starting bid so good luck to all bidders.
