As a 1st pressing, the Side 1 label credits the "Lemon Song" to Page/Bonham/Plant/Jones. Indeed, the inside of the cover calls the track the “Lemon Song” – whereas for later pressings, the title was changed to Killing Floor”.

A label's variation with "Lemon Song" may sound like a lot of fuss over a song title and seem irrelevant today, but for such a huge selling LP it now means the label on Side1 tells you are hearing the very first pressing of one the greatest albums to close the 1960's decade. Other UK record company labels have the maitrix and stamping details which will accurately date a record's precise pressing from, 1960's & 1970's Atlantic maitrix numbers are certainly not definitive, but I can definitely say this record has the lowest possible ending digits, '588 198 - A - 2 / 588 198 - B - 2.' If there was a '- 1 / - 1' ending, it had to be used for a test pressing and not a a production record. All the UK original 1969 pressings of "Led Zeppelin 2" are extremely difficult to find still in both top visual and audio condition, because they were quite simply played to death within weeks of purchase. The very first pressings had a major variation to the enforced second pressings, the song on Side One originally titled by Led Zeppelin, "Lemon Song," had infringed the copyright to "Killing Floor". The mis-spelling of "Living Loving Maid" as "Living Loving Wreck" was just a printer's error and so soon corrected, but a rarity all the same. Spelling errors however were not the cause of legal copyright song publishing infringements, with resulting court enforced ammendments if record company action was not taken to change an offending song title. Re-writing blues songs and giving them revised / different lyrics was hardly new, that had been an accepted practice since the early 60's when both folk's acoustic and electric blues ignited the decade. In fairness, Robert Plant did actually sing an original song's title "Killing Floor" in with the revised lyrics, so this was a valid objection. A need to immediately amend "Lemon Song" meant another pressing and re-printing of the labels and in this case that has meant a positively identifiable first pressing for "Led Zeppelin 2."

A really superb copy in very clean condition album from Led Zeppelin that plays superb from start to finish.

Atlantic PLUM/RED variation in brilliant condition.

VINYL= EXCELLLENT

Both sides are in superb very clean and shiny condition apart from a couple of extremey light scratches and surface marks. both sides play are stunning excellent+++ as the sound quality is clear and crisp .

RED/PLUM LABELS = EXCELLENT

Both labels are in perfect condition. Unfortunately on side one someone has written the name mandi in small letters.

DOUBLE GATEFOLD SLEEVE = EXCELLENT The gatefold sleeve is in superb clean and tidy condition front and back, all edges and the opening are strong and straight with some wear on the corners and some rigng wear on the back. someone has written the name mandi in small letters on the inside of the sleeve, 2 centimetres in length. there is a very small light mark on the back cover, less than a centimetre across
