LED ZEPPELIN Houses of the Holy. Atlantic K50014. Released 1973.
This auction is for a genuine first pressing of this great Led Zeppelin LP. It has the original A2 B2 matrix with STERLING stamped and the initials RL for Robert Ludwig, and NO Warner Bros logo. It come complete with its original gatefold sleeve and textured white inner sleeve.
Detailed Grading: -
Outer Sleeve: EX
The outer gatefold sleeve is in EX condition, it is in really nice shape, and only has very minimal signs of use. The edges are really nice and only have just a couple of isolated points of wear. There is just the feintest trace of very light ring wear on the rear of the cover at the top and bottom, but this is only detectable on very close inspection. Despite these couple of minor condition points this remains a really nice condition sleeve which is far above average condition.
Vinyl : VG+
The vinyl is in VG+ condition, it shows a moderate amount of light hairlines, but nothing too deep or obviously concerning. On playback the record plays with a certain amount of light crackle between tracks but actually during the tracks themselves there is generally no lessening in sound quality and the clarity of reproduction and the overall musical dynamic is superb. If you are looking for a really quiet, minty copy, this isn’t it, but it’s a very playable copy nonetheless that delivers great sound albeit with some background noise between tracks and occasionally during the quieter parts.

Side 1 label is clean, whilst Side 2 has a small amount of damage where it looks as though a small label has been removed at some point in the past. Please see photos.
Inner Sleeve: VG+
The white textured inner sleeve (Printed by McNeil press) is in VG+ condition. It is uncreased and unsplit, however is has a moderate amount of generally light brown staining which is almost certainly caused by natural ageing.
Postage and Packing:
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping. Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers. My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
