LED ZEPPELIN III (3) UK LP Original Red & Plum Atlantic De Luxe 2401 002.  Incredibly Rare (possibly unique) copy with Peter Grant Credit on Side 2 label only.    
 
This auction is for an ultra rare pressing of this LP on the red & plum Atlantic label with A5 B7 matrix.  
The incredible thing about this copy is that it has transitional labels with Side 1 featuring the slightly later label variation where the Peter Grant credit was dropped, yet Side 2 retains the Peter Grant credit.

However, the Discogs entry has the Peter Grant credit on side 1 only , not only on side 2 as seen on this particular copy. Looking carefully at the Discogs entry, several of the LP's for sale are in fact copies with the same label both sides , so extremely few copies of any of the one sided Peter Grant credits exist, and this copy is to my knowledge the only one of its kind listed or documented anywhere.  If it is not the only one, it must still be extremely rare!!
Aside from the label variations making this an incredible rarity, this is actually quite a nice condition copy in itself.
The wheel rotates properly and is still mounted on it's spindle and the record and sleeve are in generally nice condition.
The detailed grading is as follows:

 
Outer Sleeve: EX-
 
The outer sleeve is in EX- condition. It is of UK manufacture by EJ Day.  It shows only slight signs of wear generally, with only slight discolouration of the white background towards the top of the sleeve.  The spine isn't fully square but is generally undamaged otherwise.  The inner gatefold is very slightly coming unstuck on the right hand (non wheel) side, but this could be easily fixed.  The edges and corners have slight wear, but don't have any serious faults.  Overall this is a nice copy of this sleeve and way above the average condition found for this LP
 
Vinyl:  EX-
 
The vinyl retains it’s original deep black gloss shine beautifully.  Side 1 has one visible mark about 1.5cm long on side 1 which is quite visible but is actually an abrasion mark rather than a deep scratch.  Aside from this there is just a moderate amount of fine hairlines visible and this is nice playable copy.

Audio :   EX 
The LP plays superbly, strong and loud with generally low background noise in the quieter parts.  The mark on side 1 does not noticeably affect the sound reproduction. Lovely sounding copy.
 
Labels: EX+
 
Nice and clean with no writing or other damage and perfectly clean. 
 
Inner Sleeve : VG+
 
The original Poly lined inner sleeve dated 09 70 is included,  No seam splits, just some creasing present.  The record will be sent in a new poly lined inner and the original will be included separately within the shipment.
Overall.  Possibly unique opportunity to acquire this LP with Peter Grant label credit ONLY on side 2.  Nice condition copy as well.
 
 
Postage and Packing:
 
All records are placed in a separate poly lined inner and stored flat outside the sleeve and then placed sealed in a re-sealable polythene outer prior to shipping.  Records are then placed between square cardboard sheets before packaging into cruciform mailers especially designed for LP’s. These mailers are a high-grade type which reinforce the edges around the LP and as such they are larger and weigh more than standard mailers.  My postage costs reflect the additional size and weight of the packaging that I use.
