Plum' Atlantic pressing on red/white/plum label.
This is the 2nd (of 8) verified and known 'plum' label variants. Specific to this label variant are:
Variation label of the 1st pressing - Feather symbol on Side 2 has been corrected and is the right way up.
Catalogue number at 3 o'clock above circular Atlantic logo reads 'deluxe 2401012'
'Marketed by Polydor Records Limited' at 6 o'clock on labels.
The 'Under licence from Atlantic Recording Corpn., U.S.A.' text is printed above the white centre strip,
and omitting the music publisher, "Superhype Music Inc", credit.
also it has the distinctive 'Peter Grant' credit at the bottom label.
The music credits on this label variation state only "Kinney Music Ltd,"
"Led Zeppelin" printed in the plum area on bottom label just under the track titles in smaller lettering.
About this copy
The gatefold sleeve is intact, very little wear , a bit around spine and a sticker marks on the front; inside is clean, no marks and looks great - please see all photos
The original inner is there, often missing or destroyed, with Stairway to Heaven lyrics. This copy has handling wear and splits to the side and bottom edges, but they are not all the way down , so still useable (although I have put the LP in an addiitonal sleeve for safety) - no writing though so very good in all
The orange/plum labels have all the requisite bits for a 1st issue , version 2 label. Peter Grant credit, correct splelling of Misty Mountain Hop and corrected feather - please see all photos. Both side in great condition very little signs of use
The vinyl has a few light hairlines and scuffs, no deep scratches - just signs of past use. Runouts have the Pecko Duck/Porky inscriptions and A3/B3 first issue matrix indicators
It plays welll. There are no loud pops or skips, the opening tracks each side have a bit of heavy crackle in the build up, ther rest just some light background crackle here and there as you'd expect, especially on quiet bits (Battle and Stairway e.g.) . Levee, Rock n Roll sound fabulous, as do all the loud bits. It is a really good listen overall !
