Lee McDonald – Sweet Magic – Debbie Records – D-0001 – 1981 Ultra Rare Modern Soul – Private Press
Ultra rare modern soul by Lee McDonald on Debbie Records. Incredibly difficult to find and pretty much a staple feature of most collector wantlists. “Sweet Magic” was released out of Patereson, New Jersey and features the deep production sound of Ron Foster. Standout cuts are the title track “Sweet Magic” which is a deep dancefloor spin. But the highlight is the stellar version of “We’ve Only Juset Begun” which is smooth and danceable. I also like the modern ballad “Show Me.” Killer title and not likely to turn up anytime soon. Don’t sleep on this one.

Cover: VG to VG+ (cover in shrink and clean, but tear along bottom seam on the back cover which can easily be repaired, small tear from label upper right corner on front) / Vinyl: NM- (plays near perfect, clean w/ no marks)
Records are graded following the standard format Cover/Vinyl and on the following scale: NM/NM-/VG++/VG+/VG/VG-/G+/etc. I do not use E or E- grading. I grade carefully and rarely give a NM grading.
