LESLIE BRICUSSE - INTERVIEW SPECIAL For Use with MGM Soundtrack "GOODBYE,MR. CHIPS"
"COMPOSERS CORNER AT MGM" ...AN INTERVIEW-SPECIAL WITH COMPOSER LESLIE BRICUSSE FOR USE WITH THE MGM SOUNDTRACK ALBUM, "GOODBYE, MR.CHIPS" . PLEASE READ THE DESCRIPTION BELOW CAREFULLY. This is the only one of this kind of promotional radio "specials" that I have come across that deals with the music maker of a film. Would that there were more of them out there. ( The collection this came from had a duplicate, as it turned out, which is the one being offered here.) Doubtless this came about because Bricusse was, at the time, the in "go-to-guy" for movie musicals...."Dr. Dolittle", "Scrooge", plus some notable stage successes, and would be a name not unfamiliar to the public. The record is meant to be used by radio stations as a promotional tool for the film. It contains two full sides of Bricusse, with introductions to songs taken from the soundtrack, but these are not included here. (They were to be played from the commercial soundtrack in conjunction with these interviews). Only opening and closing music is heard on this disc). CUE SHEETS are enclosed with this album. It is in a PLAIN COVER. There are 9 tracks with Bricusse, each ending with a "song" to be played at that time. A most worthy collector's item for fans of Bricusse and/or "GOODBYE, MR. CHIPS". Record number 1685/6. The vinyl is in almost LIKE NEW condition.
