Description
Up for auction is a copy of Lon & Derrek Van Eaton’s Brother LP, released in 1972 on Apple cat no SAPCOR 25. This is a UK pressing, far rarer than the relatively common US edition. It’s one of the more collectible Apple LPs, and a lovely record on its own terms too.
Condition: vinyl looks unplayed, though there is a small inaudible mark on the opening track of side 1. No spindle trails on either label. The laminated gatefold cover is generally in great condition too, but it looks as if the inner of the gatefold has been stuck together in the manufacturing process, causing a tear along the lower seam which has been partially “repaired” by the previous owner (see photo). All round VG+/EX (cover/vinyl).
My grades: I use a 10-point scale: M-; EX; VG+; VG; VG-; G+; G; G-; F (fair); P (poor), following Record Collector’s grading guidelines, with an extra + or – here & there to separate the wheat from the chaff. I never use mint as a grade for used records. My feedback from buyers indicates I normally undergrade in listings.
