Description
This is one of the greatest psychedelic albums of all time. It's a UK stereo pressing entitled 'Forever Changes' by Love on the UK Elektra label. This album was released in 1967 and I understand that this is a first pressing. The catalogue number is EKS 74013. The music is revolutionary and featrures all kinds of influences from West Coast psychedelia. The band was led by the great Arthur Lee and features some of the most talented US musicians of the 1960's. You will find it very difficult to get hold of an original UK pressing of this LP in such good condition.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is laminated on both sides is in fine condition with some very minor wear. The top and bottom edges show virtually no wear and the spine is in superb condition. the spine has been flattened but is in near perfect condition, otherwise. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. It states on the rear of the sleeve - 'All songs written and sung by Arthur Lee and published by Grass Root Music BMI, except where otherwise noted - * Arranged by Arthur Lee, orchestrated by David angel - | Arranged by David Angel and Bryan MacLean - Produced by ARTHUR LEE with BRUCE BOTNICK - Production Supervisor JAC HOLZMAN - Front cover art BOB PEPPER - Back cover photo RONNIE HARAN - Cover design WILLIAM S. HARVEY - Manufactured in Great Britain by Polydor Records Limited, London'. I have graded the sleeve Ex+.
INNER SLEEVE - This is a die cut paper sleeve with a clear plastic inner. It states at the bottom of one side in blue wording - 'PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS...ETC. - British Patent No. 800513 & 973939 - MADE IN ENGLAND 119 47'. I have graded this Ex.
RECORD - This record is clearly an early pressing (I guess it's a first pressing) is in fine condition and there are some minor surface marks on both sides which result in very light surface noise especially in quiet passages and between tracks. There are occasional pops and clicks but there are definitely no jumps or skips on either side. The labels which are the textured orange Elektra type with the black logo and wording are in fine condition. There are some definite spindle marks on both labels. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - EKS 74013 A1 - side two - EKS 74013 B1. I have graded the record as Ex and believe that this is very fair.
