The Love Machine – Love Machine EP (orig. Australia Festival MONO FX-11,592)

Release date: 1969.  Recording dates: 1968 - 1969.

 

On offer here is an EXTREMELY RARE original issue of the debut EP by Sydney-based STUDIO group, THE LOVE MACHINE.  This EP contains the singles “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” and “Keep Searchin’ (We’ll Follow the Sun)”.  For the tracks on side 1, producer PAT AULTON recruited the members of TYMEPIECE, a Sydney band that originated as GARAGE PUNK group, THE BLACK DIAMONDS.

front: VG++ beautiful laminated appearance: insignificant ring-wear (inner rim – hard to see), diagonal corner crease (bottom-left), minor creasing (along spine, top & bottom seams), minor surface rubbing.

back: EX flipback—beautiful laminated appearance: barest minimum of ring-wear (inner rim – hard to see), diagonal corner crease (bottom-right), minor creasing (along spine & bottom seam), minor surface rubbing, original price ‘$1.55’ printed in pen (top-right).

Record:

visual: beautiful glossy sheen—some hairlines & few light surface scuffs (seen under strong light) (VG+ to VG++).

audible: significant surface noise/crackle however the music still dominates, also occasional light pops (VG- to VG).  DEFINITELY NO JUMPS or SKIPS – played from beginning to end.  Despite the flaws, this EP is still AN ENJOYABLE LISTENING EXPERIENCE!
