Daddy Longlegs originally formed in 1968 with a line-up of Steve Hayton (guitar/vocals), Cliff Carrison (drums) and Kurt Palomaki (bass/clarinet) in their native America, but moved to England in 1969. They signed to Warner Brothers, recruited vocalist Mo Armstrong, and released the single, "High Again"/"To The Rescue" (WB 8012) and the "Daddy Longlegs" LP (WB 3004).

With both Armstrong and Hayton leaving soon after, Carrison and Palomaki recruited vocalist/pianist Pete Arnesen and guitarist/vocalist Gary "Norton" Holderman and became one of the first American acts to sign to Vertigo Records. The 12-track "Oakdown Farm" LP was released in 1971 (6360 038) and has remained a collectors item ever since.

CONDITION: Note, unless stated beneath, I haven't had time to play the record

Disc: Disc appears to have been lightly played, clean shiny and tight-grooved. I noticed several light surface marks and there was a feelable one at the bginning of track one. I played side one and there were several audible clicks at the beginning of track one. After that I noticed some quiet background crackle during fade-outs and intros and some more crackle plus a few quiet clicks/pops later on, mainly during some of the the quieter parts of tracks. Vocals and backing were loud and clear. Small neat, unobtrusive handwriting on one of the white bands of the large swirl. Interesting and enjoyable, varying from a kind of country rock to prog.

Sleeve/Cover: The floppy gatefold sleeve is in very good condition for its age and type, there is a little disc edge abrasion, and a small sticker surface tear and a spot of some kind of residue which should both be visible in the photo. Light corner wear.

Comes with a poly-lined English made inner sleeve with the large Vertigo "Swirl" on both sides. At the open edge this has frayed a little near one corner and the open edge has acquired some dust /handling grime etc and has darkened a bit. One of the flipover side seams has unglued partially and has a few creases.
