Description

THIS IS A SUPER RARE COPY OF THE SECOND LP BY DADDY LONG LEGS RELEASED IN 1971 IN THE UK ON THE SWIRLY VERTIGO LABEL CAT NO 6360 038. THIS COPY IS IN SUPERB CONDITION AND IS A MUST FOR SWIRLY COLLECTORS.

Formed in 1968, Daddy Longlegs released their first album in March 1970 and played a mixture of blues and rock with country influences.

Daddy Longlegs originally formed in 1968 with a line-up of Steve Hayton (guitar/vocals), Cliff Carrison (drums) and Kurt Palomaki (bass/clarinet) in their native America, but moved to England in 1969.  They signed to Warner Brothers, recruited vocalist Mo Armstrong, and released the single, "High Again"/"To The Rescue" (WB 8012) and the "Daddy Longlegs" LP (WB 3004). With both Armstrong and Hayton leaving soon after, Carrison and Palomaki recruited vocalist/pianist Pete Arnesen and guitarist/vocalist Gary "Norton" Holderman and became one of the first American acts to sign to Vertigo Records. The 12-track "Oakdown Farm" LP was released in 1971 (6360 038) and has remained a collectors item ever since.

The vinyl has only been played 3 times including when i play tested the lp and is in near mint condition. I have checked it under a strong light and cannot see a mark on it. This condition is reflected in the Audio which is also Near Mint. The sound is clear and vibrant and sounds superb. The Lp has the matrix numbers 6360 038 1Y/1 and 2Y/1. You would have a job to find better Vinyl for this Lp

The labels are also in Near Mint Condition with the plastic still in the spindle holes [see pictures].

The Gatefold sleeve designed bu Hipgnosis looks great. There are 2 small sticker marks on the front and some small discolouring on the inside of the gatefold but i am happy to grade it as Very Good+.

The Lp comes with the original Swirly Inner bag which is in excellent condition.

Overall a very collectable in excellent condition.

I use the Record Collector guide to grade my records-see below

The Lp will be sent in professional mailers with the Vinyl seperated from the sleeve and will be sent special delivery in the Uk for Free. The cost of postage in Europe is £8 which includes as mandatory insurance and signed for delivery. I will pay the extra costs. I am really sorry but  anyone bidding who does not have feedback will have their bid cancelled straight away. I am very sorry about this but again this is due to problems experienced in the past. Anyone without feedback and who wants to bid please contact me first.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT:
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR:
The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR:
The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD:
The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
